SMS 2.0 Admin Console unable to expand except for Tools

(OP)
In the Administration Console I am unable to expand any of the branches except for the Tools branch. Has anyone seen this or at least knows of a fix?

RE: SMS 2.0 Admin Console unable to expand except for Tools

Yes i had this one - it is a permissions problem - make sure the id you are using has permissions to the SQLDB see setting up primary site for the first time in the install guide and the access rights for sql and sms console

hope this helps
SB.

RE: SMS 2.0 Admin Console unable to expand except for Tools

Simply put... the person who was logged on during the initial installation and the 'sms system' r the only ones who have rights to do anything.

So log onto the sms server with the account u used to install sms .. go into admin console and all should be ok.  While youre in there, allocate rights to yourself or other users as necessary to administer the console.

Hope this helps.

RE: SMS 2.0 Admin Console unable to expand except for Tools

If you want to make it easier on yourself, install SMS with your Domain Administrator
account and leave the security for SQL as it is (user sa without password, afterwards you can administer this account and give it a password).
