RE: System Workshop in July?

Glen,

At the MAC meeting last week in Denver, the system stream leader from Numont Gold announced that the system stream would meet on July 19 and 20 in Denver at MINCOM's offices to demo the Elispe 5.0 software.

RE: System Workshop in July?

Glen:

Here is the email received from Kevin Kellogg, Newmont Mining, regarding the Systems Workshop....

Best Regards,
Donna Peske

Below are the topics of discussion for the Systems Stream Workshop, to be held on July 19th and 20th, at the Mincom office.  The morning of the 19th we will meet in the Training Room to see a demonstration of the new Ellipse 5.0 version.  The Training Room is next to the Brisbane Conference Room on the 9th floor.  The afternoon of the 19th and all day on the 20th we will be in the Brisbane Conference Room to discuss the remaining topics selected for the workshop.  The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day and will end at approximately 4 p.m.  I will send an agenda later this month.

I am looking for volunteers to present how their company handles MIMS overnight processing, or who would be willing to present any of the open discussion topics.

1)  A discussion of the work order process with the Mincom Help Desk, what information is provided with the work orders, priority assignment, monitoring and tracking indicators.  A continued discussion of problem solving techniques by the site technicians, and how to simplify the work order submission process.   (Presented by Mincom)

2)  How to install and compile a new TP version.  ( Presented by Mincom)

3)  Overnight processing - what have people done to the standard msdaily process to improve efficiency.  (Presented by Kevin Kellogg with other site participation)

4)  A demo of Ellipse 5.0 running on an IBM.  (Presented by Mincom)

5)  Effective Database Administrator techniques to manage MIMS running on Oracle.  (Presented by Mincom)

6)  Open Discussion on the following topics:  (Discussion from all attendees)

      Data Retention
      Source Code Management
3rd Party Tools used for monitoring, or performance tuning of MIMS

Please RSVP by the end of June.  I look forward to seeing all of you at the workshop.

Thank you,

Kevin Kellogg
