Smart Switch 2200 Help

Smart Switch 2200 Help

Smart Switch 2200 Help

Hello, I just bought a used SS2200. I am having trouble getting into the management using the com port. When I start my terminal it just sits there and blinks, I tried hitting enter several times but nothing happens. I'm pretty sure my serial port works as I built a loop-back circuit and I received what I sent. Any suggestions?

Also any recommendations for a terminal program, I have something called Tera Term Pro right now. I have never used a terminal before, but this one said it could emulate VT100 which is what I need to access the switch as far as I know.

RE: Smart Switch 2200 Help

I also have tried using HyperTerminal to connect to the switch. I'm not sure if I am using the right settings, I tried to copy them out of the pdf I found.

Bits per sec: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: Xon/Xoff
Emulation: VT100

RE: Smart Switch 2200 Help

Yes that's the default - should work - unless some bright spark changed it (doesn't happen often) if so a browse of the Enterasys support site should find the reset procedure.

Have you got the correct cable? The Cabletron/Enterasys console cable is NOT the same as the Cisco... pinouts should be on the suppor site too.
