Report problem

Report problem

Report problem

First off, let me say that I don't know much about Mapper or Mapper programming. We are having a problem with a report (I believe). This is the error that we get -

**The starting line number is beyond the end of the report.

**If a variable was used, check it to make sure that the value is correct and that a line number was used and not a report number.

I've tried to increase the lines in some of the drawers. Am I on the right path? I'm truly at a loss with this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

RE: Report problem

Good Morning,

FIrst off every MAPPER Report has a certain number of lines in it.  There are several MAPPER Functions/Statements which specify the a write/update will begin on a specified line in that report.

It sounds like you are executing a MAPPER Run Function that is trying to write a line of data and specifying a line that is beyond the last line of the report.

You should find the run and insert an @RER,0,E,2 0001 Statement in it so a display of variables will be presented when the run errors.  The report 2E0 is when you are using a WIndows based product.  The RUNERR routine may have been moved or in a different repot on you system.  Try to find it by I 2e0 and look for the RUNERR statement in the result.

RE: Report problem

As the previous post said, it sounds like you are trying to write past the end of the report/rid. If you need any help with going through the error dump (2e0) and determining what needs to get changed, do not hesitate to leave another post for me and I will get back to you. Just so you know, I have been working with MAPPER of over 25 years.
