Avamar deduplication (Norwin technologies??)

Avamar deduplication (Norwin technologies??)

Avamar deduplication (Norwin technologies??)

Hello all

I'm hearing alot of noise coming from what EMC and Norwin technologies are doing with this Avamar deduplication product.

I've seen some youtube videos on the dedupe product and seems worthy but has anyone on this panel kicked the tires with Avamar and deduplication? Is it worth it?

pros and cons, anyone here have any experiences working with Norwin and the services they promise.

RE: Avamar deduplication (Norwin technologies??)

We have the Avamar solution at our hospital.  I am totally happy with what it has done for us.  My life is so much simpler now that we are running the Avamar.  We are going to be setting up our replication server at our off-site location in about a month.  I'm backing up approximately 160 servers everyday.  I start them at 12:00pm and have them grouped into different times.  The last of them start at 6:00pm and the end time is 4:30-5:00am.

We are still learning about the system; but, overall, it has been very easy to use and learn.
