SMS Crash Dump; 'SMS installation Map could not be read'

(OP)
Hello,

Our SMS has crashed a few times. The SMS_Executive service is in a continual 'stopping' state. The crash.log states that the thread 'SMS_Component_Status_Summarizer' has a problem. The smsexec.exe and baserc.dll are 'not loading symbols'. The stack trace for that thread does mean much to me. The compsum.log states 'scanning install.map to get startup types'. The sitecomp.log continually states 'SMS
Installation map could be read'. Our SMS install directory is D:\SMS but the install.map files is within D:\SMS SW Reports\SMS. Not sure if it should be in D:\SMS? The install.map can be opened and does not seem corrupt. Can provide the logs?

A colleague has suggested doing a 'site reset'?

Any help much appreciated.

Many thanks
Staro
