I'm trying to get more information about the server but would like to have it go to the log file.  I thought about sp_audit, but I don't want to incurr the overhead of inputting information into the audit tables.  Not only that, I'd like to script server information to get it from the log files. I know there is a parameter called trace flag that can be used at ase start-up but from what I read, it doesn't seem like it's recommended. In addition, I can't find a comprehensive list of trace flag values that would help me out.
