sorting table data?

Is it possible in IDCS2 to sort text in a table column alphabetically?

RE: sorting table data?

yes, but you have to convert the table to text first.

Then open the scripts panel and find the script for sortparagrpahs.jsx

Highlight the text, double click the script.

Convert text back to table.

If that isn't an option,

Copy the table, paste into excel, sort the data, copy and paste it back into InDesign, at least you won't lose cell formatting that way.

But there is no good way of sorting tables as tables, other than by hand.

Thanks for the suggestions. At the time, I didn't have either Excel or Word on my computer, but my daughter came to the rescue and installed them for me. So now O can sort to my heart's content.

I've never noticed if I have that script in my ID. I'll have to check.
