Linking multiple Files for export

Linking multiple Files for export

(OP)
I want to export fields from multiple inventory related files such as IM.Items, IM.DETAIL, IM.ITEMEXT in MAS90. I couldn't find a file selection which all of the above files linked together. Using Link Files button in configuration tab, I tried to link the files but the fields of newly linked files will not be available in the data tab of export job maintenance window. Am I missing somthing? please help.

Thanks

RE: Linking multiple Files for export

Are you using VI?  Well don't. Hard and not very fast. Instead PULL the data out of MAS using a program such as Access.

RE: Linking multiple Files for export

Louie is right. I am in the same boat. I have been trying to pull data from MAS200 using VI. It is so slow kinda like working on a 56kbps internet connection.

I developed a VB application that extracts Items and customer information using ODBC(DSN=SOTAMAS90) connection from MAS90. Can I use the same application to extract items and customers information ffrom another version of MAS90(the version I used to test the application is 3.70) or MAS200. Are tabel and table column names remain the same in every versions of MAS90 and MAS200.

Thanks

RE: Linking multiple Files for export

The SOTAMAS90 DSN is a simple one. It cannot handle complex SQL calls. The best way to do it is to pull each table individually into the destination and then combine them as desired.

RE: Linking multiple Files for export

No, table and column names are not the same between different versions.  Some versions yes, some versions no.

For example, between 3.70 and 4.30, inventory is the same.

Between 3.70 and 4.30, customer info is not.
