Hipath 8000 how do you add a RG 2734?

(OP)
Ok we have added a RG 2734 gateway to the Hipath 8000.  The RG 2734 and Hipath 8000 are connected to each other through an Intel switch.
We can log into the RG 2734 through the LAN, and have configured it with the config wizard.  We have saved the config and rebooted the RG 2734.  Yet, the two units do not communicate with each other.
How do we administer the addition of the RG 2734 to the Hipath 8000?  We have tried to add the RG to the 8000 in the 8000 web manager and the only option we have found is a place to add the IP address of the unit, but nothing else.
Any thoughts, ideas greatly appreciated.
