APX 8000 question regarding T1 configuration

APX 8000 question regarding T1 configuration

APX 8000 question regarding T1 configuration

Quick question for anyone who has dealt with testing / turning up T1 trunks from an APX-8000 to a LEC.   Have been testing trunks that terminate on a DMS-100 with no problems, but recently when testing new trunks that go to a 4E/5ESS switch have been running into problems regarding trunks passing testing prior to turn-up.

Are there any special line-interface options that I need to configure to support a T1 trunk going to a 4E/5ESS versus a DMS?

The line-interface options that have worked for DMS are:

new T1
set physical-address shelf = shelf-1
set physical-address slot = slot-1
set physical-address item-number = 1
set line-interface enabled = yes
set line-interface frame-type = esf
set line-interface encoding = b8zs
set line-interface signaling-mode = sigtran-mg-trunk
set line-interface media-gateway = mg

This configurations works fine and trunks test fine with the LEC as long as it goes to a DMS.   I noticed that there are other line-interface options such as "switch-type" (defaulted to "att-pri") and also "robbed-bit-mode" (defaulted to "wink-start").   When I list out the available switch-types, 4E/5ESS is not listed:

admin@apx01> set switch-type ?
The network switch type, needed for ISDN/NFAS signaling.
Enumerated field, values:
att-pri:  The PRI Switch Types supported today are enumerated below.
taiwan-pri:  The Dpnss and DASS 2 Switch Types supported today are enumerated
bt-ss7:  This switch type can only be selected if the line is configured for
SS7 signaling. Call processing for this switch type is performed according
to British Telecom recommendations for SS7-IP interworking.
unknown-bri:  The BRI Switch Type Unknown is supported for Auto SPID.
att-5ess-bri:  The BRI Switch Types supported today are enumerated below. All
of the lines within a network interface must come from the same switch,
due to synchronization limitations of the network interface hardware.
switch-cas:  The CAS switch type is used with R2.

Anyone know if there is a preferred switch type for a 4E/5ESS or a preferred robbed-bit mode to get a T1 to pass trunk testing?
