Error with QuarkXpress 7.0

Error with QuarkXpress 7.0

Error with QuarkXpress 7.0

I used quark 7 normally about a month. But one day it stopped in my computer and I don't know what is wrong with it. I installed the same distributive to my laptop, it works normally but in desktop not. It gives me this error.
"This version of 'Xpress Preferences' is incapable with this version of QuarkXpress (86)
second error
"Cannot access the 'XPress Preferences' file (12)

How can I solve this problem?

RE: Error with QuarkXpress 7.0

...try to recreate the preferences file for quark...

...for that on windows:

...navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Your user\Application data\\Quark

...rename the folder from "QuarkXPress 7" to "Old QuarkXPress" and relaunch quark. You need to reset all your preferences in quark afterwards when doing this...

...also note that "Application data" folder is a hidden folder. You need to unhide that folder from Tools > folder options > View tab > Show hidden files and folders...

...on mac os x the preferences files are here:

/users/"username"/library/preferences/quark/quarkxpress 7.0

...just move this folder out on the mac completely so it rebuilds on launch...
