I am just putting together a lab for learning purposes, and I am trying to add an ALI 4 card to an existing NATI2 Logger. I went into the AudHw.cfg to add the board Ali4=1, and the channels...but I constantly get a comMgr.exe failure when I start the logger. Anybody have a procedure for doing this? Thanks in advance.

you cannout manually edit the config files. if you are adding new hardware you need to get new config from nice otherwise a checksum will occur.

Nice sales will be able to assit you with this. i take it its a 9.x logger?

Yes it is a 9.x logger...and I really wouldnt mind a checksum error as long as I can push past it. Fortunately this is not for production. We shoudlnt be restricted from learning about this stuff...certainly not from putting in cards for lab purposes. We have to be able to do this stuff without calling Israel.

are the familair with the setup tool. if you change in the minst file number of ali 4 to 2 and run this tool then you can get around this. back up the config folder. stop logger and install the logger with the new config.

OK I changed the minst file...but I only changed it to 1 because I didnt have an ALI in there previously. When I ran the setuptl the ALI was not in there...just the Nati and Adif. When I tried starting the logger I recieved a bunch of fatals:

FATAL: Aud_SetSque Driver Status fail

Mate you will struggle to get this working without the correct config file.  I have done many upgrades and this has always been the case.  I believe there is a tool for gradating Logger config files but good luck trying to get a hold of one ;o)
