Sytem locks up.

Sytem locks up.

Sytem locks up.

The V 5000 locks up about 2 times a week and phones stop working. IF i go in to netset and tab to it and i can reboot the system.  If I move to more than 4 tabs the V5000 locks up and I do a reboot with a serial cableor unplug the system.  I not sure what would cause this problem.

RE: Sytem locks up.

Sounds like a database issue. How many phones do you have?

When the system reboots, do you see any errors from a console session?

RE: Sytem locks up.

There is 30 phones on the system.  I change the hard drive tray and reprogrammed the system and were still having the same issue.

RE: Sytem locks up.

Then it is most likely a hardware issue and you will need to work with support on this one...

On a side note, are you up to date with the software?

RE: Sytem locks up.

if you call 3com support they can run tests on the memory.  I would suggest having them do that.  sounds like memory to me.

RE: Sytem locks up.

Thank you Im going to open a case number with 3Com.

RE: Sytem locks up.

Are you using SMTP for notification there is a but in 6.0.59 may want to roll back.   If it cannot contact the SMTP server the notification will back up and hang the system.  Just delt with one of these the other day.
