My G3v7 Definity is running 5min's fast. I want to change the time, however before doing so I want to be sure that the will be no adverse affects to BCMS or CDS. I don't think so but this is the first time I'm doing this and I don't want to screw up my reporting. I know....it may already screwed up from the time being off anyway. Could someone give me some incite?

If by "CDS" you mean CMS, a Sun CMS call management system, then yes there are things to watch out for. If the CMS and the switch time is more than 5 minutes out of sync the CMS link will drop. Make sure you coordinate the time settings between both. The BCMS and CDR, if this is what you meant by CDS will not be affected. There is a possibility that CDR records could be reflect multiple calls being made from a station at the same time you performed the time change. Just be aware of it a all else should be fine. Also I do not know what version switch you have by I HIGHLY suggest you make sure the setting on "change system features" has the feature set to" "y" that syncs the switch time to the telephone set time.

If you choose to change the time & go back 5 min. than in the CDR the duration would be all 9's i.e. "9999" for all the calls which are ON while you are changing the time & in the BCMS also when you change the time whatever the call are ON would show you the very different duration. The best time to change the system time is when there are no ACD/CDR calls. else the reporting would be affected.

Regards..:)

Yes, Make sure you do that because I changed the Time on the PBX a while ago and lost data from the BCMS. Make sure that you pull all the data first prior to changing time on the PBX side. Haven't lost any data since following that procedure.
