KX-TDA50 Answer from any extension
(OP)
I'm having a problem getting after-sales service for my 4-month old KX-TDA50 w/ KX-T7636 phone. For a small motel, I'm the owner/manager, plumber, janitor, carpenter, electrician, and occasional laundry person and housekeeper. I need to be able to answer incoming calls from any room extension, and sometimes transfer those calls. Both *41 and *40 give a busy signal. Supposedly *41100 (*40100) should let me answer an incoming call (I have a portable phone that rings, but can't use it to talk -- antenna issues); I also tried 41100/40100 without the star. Nothing works, just busy signals.
Is there a solution for me as the only admin user? I have access to everything except installer settings.
If this has to be done from the maintenance console, can someone supply me with the settings to give to my installer? Maybe if I dazzle him with my initiative I can get him to come out (I've even offered to pay him!).
Thanks in advance,
George

That sounded promising. I've been over this so many times I'd forgotten that as soon as I hit any * plus two numbers (such as *41, etc.) I start getting the busy signal.
100 is the front desk extension number for the KX-T7636.
After reading your post, I looked up call pickup deny/allow. I tried entering *720 from the 7636, but am getting the busy signal after entering *72.
Which also means that *406xx doesn't work either.

If you are not on true intercom and you dial * anything
you get a fast busy

Is there any reason these would be disabled by the dealer, without checking with the buyer?
And what does "true intercom" mean? Is that something I would want in a motel setup? (It doesn't sound like it, but thought I would ask.)
And again, thanks for replying.

here and i've changed some of the FAC to suit
my needs like message retrieval and timed reminder and every thing works here as advertised if you follow OM to the letter ,who know what evil lurks in the heart of man.

Oh well, live and learn. ($$$)
Maybe I'll come back soon with another thread asking about the TAW848! <vbg>

Establish an external page group (default is 600) and CF the master phone to 600 (ie *7102600#). When the phone is dialed or an outside call comes in, go to any phone and dial *421.
It works on a TAW-848, only I can't hear the ring. You might have to assign more ringing points.

The 2.x software is corrupt on the support web site. I can't upgrade my 1.0 to anything and I can't even run it from either web site. I don't have access to the newest site, it won't let me login or register my email address since I'm supposed to already be there.
To really frost it, my USB auto backup drive is currently being a giant paperweight. I have to decide if I want to reformat the NTFS partition or drop it on the floor and send it back to Maxtor
I'm guessing that I have a working 2.0 on a backup memory stick or laptop somewhere.
