Using the blackberry with PC modem

Using the blackberry with PC modem

Using the blackberry with PC modem

Does anyone know if it's possible to set up the BB to connect to my PC and use it to dial up a modem at a remote location using an application such as Procom? I have to dial into many systems from home and I don't have a landline.

RE: Using the blackberry with PC modem

Some of the BlackBerry devices can be used as modems. But the cost is prohibitive to most people; especially roaming abroad, it can rack up huge bills.

RE: Using the blackberry with PC modem

I appreciatre the heads up jpaf. This is a company device and that's what they want me to be able to do so cost is not an issue at this time.
What I need though is how to set it up and what, if anything, I need to set up on the PC as well. Blackberry documents aren't much help on this one.

RE: Using the blackberry with PC modem

Just looked through the info on that link and I think that's exactly what I need.

I'll try to set it up and let you know if it works.

Thanks again for your help.

RE: Using the blackberry with PC modem

I've not read that link but I've used a BB as a modem many times and it works well. Especially when doing company business if the bill is picked up!!
