Something strange with phone does anyone know why please help

Something strange with phone does anyone know why please help

(OP)
Ok the problem is that some of my phones can't dial to certain areas. They all have the same cor, cos, and frl. All the settings in the pbx station compares to same exact settings. The only strange thing is that some phones are able to dial anywhere in the US using the same exact settings and while some phones cant call certain places within the US. Anyone know why. This is mind boggling when I check and everything seems to be all the same unless im missing something. Your help is appreciated.

RE: Something strange with phone does anyone know why please help

If you're using a Definity R9 then try using the "list trace ..." command to see why the call is being denied. For example, if you "list trace station 4-1234" and then dial from that station you'll see the call processing steps and see where the call failed (ie. no route pattern, cor conflict, etc.).

It's not in english, but with a little trial and error you should be able to read the results.

Good Luck, Ron

Ron,
Im still using R4 only dont have the dough at this time to upgrade to R9 or R9.5 yet. List trace doesnt work in R4. Is there another command like monitor that you think might be able to do the job as list trace.

Are you 100 % certain that the stations' CORs are the same ? Just wondering, cause as you probably already know the later COR pages include such functionality.

Even if the settings for two CORs are the same, remember that toll analysis links to COR.

Additionally, CORs can be used to link to ars partitioning ie. cha ars a 0 0.   So a destination string could be effectively barred to stations of certain COR by forcing to a route pattern with DEN or DENY (apologies for the formatting - please copy and paste into notepad)

change ars analysis 0                                           Page   1 of   2
                             ARS DIGIT ANALYSIS TABLE
                                   Location:  all           Percent Full:    4

Dialed           Total     Route    Call   Node  ANI
String          Min  Max  Pattern   Type   Num   Reqd
    0                     10   11    deny     pubu         n

Have you tried experimenting with 2 handsets at your desk and going through the config piece by piece.  Try making 2 new CORs and go from there.

RE: Something strange with phone does anyone know why please help

Had a similar problem and don't know if this helps or not...
I got a call from a remote office that all of a sudden they couldn't call puerto rico. I checked out the COR, FRl's, ARS tables...all of it. had to set up a vector that used FAC to get across our dcs to the remote location dialed out through the local and long distance, and found that MCI had restriced 787 calls over our long distance trunk group...(Wierd). Sorry, Thats all I got. Our switch software has a settin in the Cor to auto block Brazil collect calls...dont know if other versions have auto blocking of other area codes inc/out...

Turns out that I had not added the area code into my ARS.
After I added the zip codes it worked fine. Thanks for all the help. Still though I just wonder if the area codes were not added into my ars, how was some other phone able to dial to those area codes? hmmm.

Thanks again,
Ylor
