check printer

All can anybody tell me how to get rid of the flashing check printer alert on the main handset of a td1232 system. I've been trying to connect my laptop to the system with no luck. I initially changed the outgoing signal to all in program mode 800. Have changed it back to off again but the alert remains.

regards

Joe

RE: check printer

nener heard of check printer error what Country are you in
what type of printer are you connecting?

RE: check printer

(OP)
I'm located in Australia and the funny thing is that I'm not trying to connect to a printer. I was trying to connect to my laptop but don't have the correct null modem cable

RE: check printer

(OP)
Once I got the correct cable up and running I connected to the PABX through hyperterminal and presto the system started spitting out all the calls that were made during the time that I had program mode 800 set to on. No more check printer flashing sign on the main hand set.

RE: check printer

that check printer thing ust be on the oz system
ours just buffers calls untill you connect.

RE: check printer

How long does it buffer the call records for??  I think ours stops at 100.  So if its a busy system our check printer alarm is a good thing...better to know there is a problem and fix it rather than lose some of that call data.

RE: check printer

Of course, the Mitels just stopped routing calls when the SMDR buffer filled up smile

Panasonics buffer some number of calls, maybe 8K bytes or something like that, then overwrite the oldest calls.  The alarm thing may be an option.

RE: check printer

you also get check printer here in the euro zone
in your case your getting this error because the printer is trying to print your call log with no printer attached you most likly switched this on when trying to setup your laptop!! the printer option is not required unless your using call logging

in the euro zone systems this is in prog NO 800 if you can find the printer option on your system set to disable this will stop the error.

if the port is still open then reset the system.
