I had to rebuild my boss's laptop and she needs Visual Studio.net installed as well as Visual Studio 2005.  I have never had an issue installing 2005, but I can not for the life of me install get VS.net installed.  I have ran the PreReq cd and installed the 4 or 5 files/programs it needs, reboot and when inserting the VS.net cd, it keeps on asking to run the PreReq cd.(can't seem to get to step 2)  This is on XP pro SP2.  Anyone know what I need to do?  Also, is it true that opening 1.1 apps in VS 2005 converts them to 2.0?  No backward compatibility?

Thanks,
Marc
