Autocad Dictionary not working

Autocad Dictionary not working

Autocad Dictionary not working

Land Desktop Companion 2008:

The dictionary will not work.  There is only a hadfull of "A" words in the custom dictionary (custom.dic) file.  How do I get the dictionary to default to the main dictionary.

It will not recognize any word I just typed in this message.

RE: Autocad Dictionary not working

I think it might be a bug with 2008.  Someone has it installed in the drafting department and his does not work either.

Spell checker will not recognize the American Dictionary.  WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Canadain dictionary is fine.  I assume the French one is fine too.  (kinda hard to read though)

RE: Autocad Dictionary not working

Dunno if this helps at all but try the DCTMAIN system variable - look it up in HELP for a list of values / dictionaries..

Sorry, if its not helpful..

RE: Autocad Dictionary not working

I tried that.

I found a way around the problem.  Not sure if it is the proper fix, but it worked.

I copied the enu.dct file (the one with the most commonly used words) and replace the enu.dct file that has the coded stuff in it.

Hope I didn't break anything :)

Worked though!

Anyone know where I can get a list of english words to add to the dictionary file?
