SMS Error on the Status portion - cannot figure where to fix?

SMS Error on the Status portion - cannot figure where to fix?

(OP)
I have an SMS 2003 server and I have been getting this error under the component status portion of the site status window:

069    12/27/2007 10:12:07 AM    USXXXX0 SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER    2703    SMS Inventory Data Loader failed to process the delta MIF file "X2oojbg1l.MIF" and has moved it to "D:\SMS\inboxes\auth\dataldr.box\BADMIFS\hubta1r9.MIF."    Possible cause: The file attempted to update inventory information in the SMS site database that does not already exist, or the file contains invalid syntax.  Solution: The client inventory needs to be resynchronized, which will be done automatically. Look for the status messages 2714 and 2715, which indicate the resynchronization has begun.

What is causing and where and how can I resolve it?

Also the bad MIFs are quite a few... all with different names of course.

RE: SMS Error on the Status portion - cannot figure where to fix?

This is usually occurs when SMS doesnt have full inventory from client. It cannot process delta untill it get the full inventory. Also possible that client has not sent the heartbeat yet.

You can open the BADMIF file in notepad and get the client name. Check in collection if this client flaq is YES and not obsolete.

from the client machine initiate a full discover manually and wait for 10 minutes.

Then again initite a H/w Inventory to see if it gets processed.

Also look into DATALDR.LOG for any errors.
