You cannot use Peachtree error

I´m having trouble with Peachtree 2007 the error I get is this: "You cannot use Peachtree right now because the serial number (XXXXXX) are already in use by the maximum number of computers. If you feel you have reached this message in error, wait 1 minute and then try logging on again."
I 've created a new company and then tried to copy/paste som of the *.dat files of the original company but when copied the message comes again, Any experience with this issue?

RE: You cannot use Peachtree error

Peachtree does limit the number of users.  Also the files are locked to specific companies so copying them normally doesn't work.

RE: You cannot use Peachtree error

I Have a Single Computer, this happens after a shutdown, how do I Work Arround this? and get back the data.

RE: You cannot use Peachtree error

The cause of this error message is due to how the Pervasive database is installed, during and after the Peachtree Accounting 2008 installation process.

You can follow the instructions in Answer id # 21478 in Peachtree's knowledgebase (www.peachtree.com/support)or contact a certified consultant to help you with this.  It involves changing your registry and is somewhat technical in nature.

RE: You cannot use Peachtree error

Try shutting down the Server and turning off all the pc's. It may be that multiply occurrences of the database are open and you want to close all of them.  If this fixes it, the problem may be how you are logging off the system that caused the problem.
