KX-TD1232 problems.....

KX-TD1232 problems.....

KX-TD1232 problems.....

(OP)
We are having problems with our phone system.  Seems to ring once and thats it.  If you don't catch it, the call is missed.  Any ideas on where we should look for the problem?

RE: KX-TD1232 problems.....

Wow that is pretty general with such a wide array of things that may be causing it. First thing comes to mind is that your incoming lines sound as though they are call forwarded. Have you recently changed dial tone vendors, or gotten new service from your existing provider? Has there been any programming done recently to your phone system? Another possibility would be ringing generators within your key service unit going bad or, have you added  anything to the system latley which may require more rining generators? It could be any number of things. I would check out the easiest, or most obvious causes first.

Here is what we know:  The problem comes and goes and seems to last for 10-20 minutes at random times.  We have not changed dial tone vendors. No new service from existing provider.  No new programming, and nothing added recently. We did have the phone company out and they said all looks fine.

i'dd lift the main number of the system and ring it?

RE: KX-TD1232 problems.....

Is one of the phones ringing on an incoming call a portable/cordless phone?

I have had 2 cordless phones(at different sites), set for answer on pick up from the charging cradle, vibrate so much when ringing that it came off the contacts and answered the call.
Both units where Uniden sets.

RE: KX-TD1232 problems.....

Have you tried ressetting the system yet? If the battery, used for retaining memory in case of a power failure, is old I would suggest that you replace the battery before powering down or you will default the system. Once you have replaced the battery then turn power off and unplug the electric for a couple of minutes. Plug it back in and turn the power on. This is a simple task and gets rid of any quirks the system may have put out from software getting corrupted over time. Hope this helps.

RE: KX-TD1232 problems.....

it can be a bad ext phone wire short on ring. what happen where does call  goes .

RE: KX-TD1232 problems.....

If it is just affecting one incomming line something BEFORE the phone system could be tripping the ring. An intermittent short of some kind. Pull the offending CO off the system and make a few test calls when it starts acting up. If it still does it, pull everything off the dmarc and make the calls with only the local phone company hooked to that line.
