Fujitsu 9600 ISDN T1

Fujitsu 9600 ISDN T1

Fujitsu 9600 ISDN T1

Our company recently purchased a company that has a Fujitsu 9600. We are in the process of swapping LD carriers and have experienced some problems. The new T1 is provisioned 4ESS Megacom call by call, our local tech is telling us that the phoneswitch cannot be configured this way. He says this was an option when purchased. The local vender is wanting the carrier to re-provision through a 5ESS switch. We are in a crunch to get this cut and need to know if the 9600 has the capability of Megacom call by call. As you can tell, I have limited knowledge on this so any help would be appreciated.

RE: Fujitsu 9600 ISDN T1

The 9600 does have the "capibility" of 4ESS Megacom. But you need the Megacom software package. Like your vendor told you, it is an option. Depending on the release you are running now, it can only be obtained from Altura. If you can get it. It is a upgrade that requires having a good current backup. When the patch is installed a PHASE 2 is required. Good luck.

RE: Fujitsu 9600 ISDN T1

Thank you for the information. We are working with Altura to see if the software is available.

RE: Fujitsu 9600 ISDN T1

Just a little clarification. If Altura has the Megacom software. They will ask for a current DIS SOFT. After you send that to them. They will create a new Base Load. When you get the new Base Load you will do the following procedure.
First: Create a backup with the "BAC FILE,FM00,FM01" command.
Second: Load the new software with the "LOA FILE,FM01,FM00" command.
Third: Put the disk 1 from the backup in the floppy drive and type "COP CD,FM01,FM00".This will map your existing database onto the new load. This will take 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of your system.
Finally you wil Phase 2 the PBX (power down). When the system is powered back up it will have the new load and your database.
At least thats how we did it when it was Fujitsu.
