I believe Vista has an issue with writting files to the Program files directory.  That might be involved.  If you check the Vista group you'll find lots of Vista issue.  -- Less now then 6 months ago.  Have to keep in mind that MS always needs about a year to fine tune the opperating systems after they are released.  It's also probably true that the more complex they are the more fine tuning is needed.
