PSP X1 - Vista - won't run
PSP X1 - Vista - won't run
(OP)
Yesterday I found that PSP X won't run under Vista (see my previous thread). Thinking that this was a reasonable excuse to upgrade to PSP XI I visited the Corel site and bought the upgrade.
Now I have two versions of PSP which won't run, but at least PSP XI goes one better, it starts a process that consumes almost 100% of my CPU cycles, I have to use Task Manager to stop it.
I downloaded and installed the latest graphics drivers, thinking that would be a solution, what a waste of time, makes no difference at all.
Could this be the perfect opportunity to learn Photoshop? That would be a pity as I've been with PSP since version 4.
Can somebody offer even a glimmer of hope that maybe a future version of PSP will work with Vista?

I can give you hope.
I am using X1 on Vista. I had a load of problems getting started. Contact Corel support by email. They were extremely helpful getting my X1 working. I still get a pop up that wants me to upgrade to X2 but I ignore it.
(for my installation) One of the steps will be the complete removal of all previous versions of PSP. I lost the ability to play with animated .gifs
Photoshop is a nice program if you have the desire to learn it. It is powerful but difficult to learn. I am happier with Paint Shop Pro.
Good Luck !
