Word Templates -- File ¦ New "Preview"

I have some very complicated templates.

Our users complain when they use File ¦ New and select the template.

There is a long wait for the highlight to move to the selected template while Word tries to find its "Preview" example, which my templates don't have.  Once Word discovers there is no "Preview" everything is fine.

Question:  Is there a way to stop this from occurring (other than making a menu and macro to retrieve the template) by creating a "Preview" or preventing Word from looking for one?
