Relation Help

Hello, thanks in advance for any help.

I'm trying to get a field to look up information based on the relation.

Ex:  I have 2 databases, one person contact and one company contact. I need the company database to pull a person's name but only if it meets a requirement.  There will be multiple persons that belong to a single company.  But there will only be one Key Contact person.  I'd like to tell the company database to pull from these related batch of records, but only display the key contact name in the field.

Any thoughts?  I just can't get it.

RE: Relation Help

Update on the problem:

I got it to show up using an IF statement, but it only works on the first record.  If there are 3 records in a row for the same company, the look up only works for the 1st record that happens.  Any way to make it look past that and just take anyone that meets the criteria?

Again, thanks.

RE: Relation Help

Make a flagfield in your contact person table.
In the company contact tableyou need a triggerfield, something like a Yes/No field for ContactPerson.

Make a relationship between those two fields.

In the company table put this relationship over your calcfield.
This will put the contactName in the personContact when the relationship is valid.
