According to the documentation SKW98 will open either Eudora Pro or Microsoft Exchange, as defined in the Setup function.

I use Microsoft Outlook, internet mail settings. SKW determines that I have Exchange installed. Then it asks me what profile I would like to use, and the only choice is "Microsoft Outlook internet settings". On the next screen in Setup, it says "Please choose the Microsoft Exchange services you wish to use..." but the list is null, so I cannot complete the setup wizard.

When I right click on a cardfile record and select "send to" the Eudora Pro and Exchange options are both greyed out.

How can I get the email link working?

Ian

RE: Link to Email Clients

Dear IanMcKean,

I was trying it out in Internet Sidekick and all I could come up with is that the relationship with Exchange is as a Server/Client where Exchange is the server and the preferences seem set in the following Registry key:

CODE

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Starfish\Internet Sidekick\Version 1\Servers

!!!!FIRST OF ALL BACKUP EVERYTHING!!!!

Now you could export that (Servers) key and then try messing around with the key names and Data values , but if you do so you always stand a chance of screwing up entirely.
If you have reason to be confident when dealing with the registry (Or you don't mind re-installing EVERYTHING)then GO AHEAD and good luck.

I tried to set the value of the key to email but no luck and when I reverted I could not send a Fax so be careful.

Hi James,

I did not succeed withExchange but found that I could downloiad the latest version of Eudora and the SKW98 interface does work. However it does not quite do what I hoped it would do so for the moment I am going on with Outlook for email and continue to cut and paste important things into Sidekick.

Thanks,
Ian

RE: Link to Email Clients

Hi Ian,

Good Luck anyway!
If anyone else can illuminate that dark corner of Sidekick it would be appreciated by all I am sure!

& Regards
Jim
