How to make calculation formula

How to make calculation formula

(OP)
I have imported data from another program (private advantage) one field will need to post Male or Female.  What I am getting is True for Male and False for Female.  How do I get True to post Male and False to post Female?

Thanks from a newbe

RE: How to make calculation formula

I'm not sure if this is what you're getting at, but try this:

Case(

yourfield = "Male", "True",
yourfield = "Female", "False"

)

Hi,

The Case function should work here but I am not getting any output.  I think there is another item I have not put into my formula to allow the the field to show the desired content.

additional suggestions?

Thanks,

RE: How to make calculation formula

You might have a syntax error there.  Can you copy and paste the code in that calculation here?

RE: How to make calculation formula

Cryogen's example may be backwards.  Try this:

Case ( yourfield = "True"; "Male"; "Female" )

In plain english this says; if the existing value is "True" then change it to "Male" otherwise change it to "Female".

RE: How to make calculation formula

Coolbrz,

Oops, this might be safer:

Case (
yourfield = "True"; "Male";
yourfield = "False"; "Female";
"unknown"
)

In my previously posted formula it didn't take into account the fact that the gender may be unknown.
