Stand-alone DEMO Security Problems

Stand-alone DEMO Security Problems

(OP)
I am trying to prototype row security in the stand-alone system (B8.10) but nothing works. roles don't work, user security doesn't work (users can sign on with out a password), the system user profile does not appear to work.

does password security need to be required in order to make row security active?

I have been throught the setup several times but with no success. Does anyone have a chear sheet on what to look out for (ie JDE.ini settings etc.)

any help would be appreciated.
