Secondary site promotion to primary

I need help!! I'm trying to promote a secondary site to a primary site in SMS and can not find a valid route to do so.  Has anyone done this before?

Any help is needed :) Thanks!

Is there a way to swictch from one server to another that are named differently?  We have a server running sms and it is quickly dying.  However, we would like to just use one of the servers we currently in house.  Everything I have read says you have to have the same name.  Is there away around using the same server name?

RE: Secondary site promotion to primary

Your best bet is to rebuild/replace the server that is dying with a server with the same name (the 1st link).  You proably could remove the secondary and all the clients would go directly to the primary site (they already do)  if your not going to replace the secondary use the second link I sent to remove the ad info.
