Future involving PowerShell

Future involving PowerShell

Future involving PowerShell

(OP)
Hi all,

Pretty new to PS, but wondering on how people see it on integrating with MS as a whole.

Do people see it more as a update to the whole scripting environment within Windows, or (as I see it! winky smile) a new direction for MS completely.
The first example is how Exchange is pretty much driven by PowerShell, and the MMC is simply a GUI that runs over it. (Similar to SQl Mangement Studio / Enterprise Manager is a basic GUI to the SQL Language)

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Steve.

RE: Future involving PowerShell

All future server products are being designed to have PowerShell integration.  Microsoft recognizes the importance of automation in the enterprise and is moving to ensure many current and future products will support that goal.

There is a huge commitment within Microsoft to this goal.  For example, the Longhorn Server group were the first to commit to this (but the Exchange group were faster to implement and get product out).

I think it will take me a little while to get used to the differences with PowerShell, but the power of it is evident.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
