L&H speech recognition ASRAPI.h, asrDbOpen

L&H speech recognition ASRAPI.h, asrDbOpen

L&H speech recognition ASRAPI.h, asrDbOpen

I am upgrading a voice application that uses the L&H speech recognition api calls.

The application hangs on the call to 'asrDbOpen'.  I am not able to step into the asrDbOpen call since ASRAPI.h is a compiled library.  If the line with 'asrDbOpen' is commented out, the program does not hang but does not recognize anything.

The enviroment is on a new machine with XP Media Center Service Pack 2.  I have installed the L&H and can use the Lextool.

#include "ASR1500.H"
#include "ASRAPI.H"

        hDb = asrDbOpen("MIC1602 - Office"); // hangs in Borland C++ Builder 2006
        if (hDb <= ASRERR_MAXERR)
                Label1->Caption = "Error";

        hCtx = asrCtxOpen(hDb, "harley", "basewords", ASRCTXATTRIB_WRITE);
        if (hCtx > ASRERR_MAXERR)
                Label1->Caption = "Open";

The routine works in C++ Builder 6 but not in the Borland 2006.
