I have installed a CP 100; initialized it, and now need to expand mailboxes by twelve. I have key-codes ( 8 boxes & 4 boxes )already, but when I try to communicate to V.M. it will not give me ip address. I have tried both straight thru and cross over with no luck. What am I missing ( P.S. besides the obvious: knowledge )

You need to manually set your ip address under your LAN Network profile. You probably have it set to automatically get an ip.

What you need to do is to manually set it.

If the CP Mini is 192.168.1.20 make your's 192.168.1.25, reboot your laptop and then try again. It will let you connect then. Use a cross over if connecting directly to the LAN port or a regular if you have the Mini on a HUB and you connect to the HUB.

Hope this helps.
