I just got a new computer and installed software. Any Wise installation that I create won't work on this new computer but will work on other computers. Here's the wierd part, if I log off and log back on as Guest, the installation works. I have booted into safe mode, logged on as administrator and same thing; The initial Wise notification screen appears, then it looks like it is about to install and then it just disappears. No lock up, no indication it was ever attempted. Can there be some kind of security setting in my user profile that may be causing this?

Thanks

Frank

Hi,

First thing I'd do is check the event viewer and examine the application log. If there are issues with the MsInstaller service they'll more than likely show up here.

You may need to re-install, or repair your Windows Installer componments due to some incompatibility, or corruption.

Good luck! :)

I'm having this exact same problem on a Windows 2000 machine I just built. It has the all the latest updates (SP4, Update Rollup, etc.)

I have checked the event view and there was nothing interesting in the Application Log. Does Wise Installer user Windows Installer?
