(OP)
I have a pc running XP, and a laptop running 2000 pro.  Im trying to connect them directly using a xover cable, just to share files on them, but I cant get the connection to work.  The PC is setup with an ip of 192.168.0.2, laptops is 192.168.0.3.   When I try to ping from the laptop, I get an error saying "PING: transmit failed, error code 65".  I cant ping from the PC either but its the standard fail message.  Im at my wits end as I cant seem to connect them,  any help would be great
