Howdy all . . .

Is there an API that returns processor speed?

See Ya! .  .  .  .  .  .

RE: Processor Speed API

Its available in the Registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0\~MHz

In a multi-processor environment, I would presume that you change the 0 in the path.

I think that it is different in Win 95 (and possibly also 98 amd ME) but I'm not sure of that.

Hope this helps.

RE: Processor Speed API

Be aware that you may see "interesting" results on some early Intel SpeedStep processors.  As well as code that is running inside a virtual-machine (VMWare or VirtualPC).
