PROC PRINT

PROC PRINT

PROC PRINT

(OP)
Hi all:

I'm working my way through Cody's "SAS Programming by Example" as a novice programmer.

I'm having a problem using data labels in proc print. I specify "label" at the end of the "PROC" statement. I then specify a "LABEL" statement, assigning titles to each of my variable names.

Easy so far - but when I submit the step, SAS takes ages (I close the program down and restart it takes that long), even though the resource monitor indicates plenty of room in the CPU.

Can anyone help please.

Thanks.

Bryan.

RE: PROC PRINT

Bryan,

Is it the PROC PRINT step that's causing the long processing time or is it another data step or procedure in the program? Check the log. Also try using a smaller set of data and see if the program works (in case you are trying to print a very large datafile).

Thanks Albert.

It certainly wasn't the size of the data set. Things are all running smoothly now, so it's a little perplexing. Let sleeping dogs lie I say!
