Access Denied on registry

When I am creating a database for a mobile device in the Remote tab of the Mimer Administrator I get the following error when I press "OK" on the "Local Database Definition" screen and then "Yes" to create the database on the handheld device:

Unable to create the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\MIMER-mobiledb
'RefCreateKeyEx: Access is denied.'

I am using Mimer SQL Mobile 9.2. If anyone has any ideas??? I am new to Mimer so I could be doing something very simple wrong. My handheld device is running WM5.

RE: Access Denied on registry

After you get the error, can you use the database on the PDA? In other words, can you export a database from your PC to the PDA? I get the same error on my Qtek 9100 (it runs Windows Mobile 5), but I can still use the created database.

RE: Access Denied on registry

Hi fral,

Thanks for your reply.

When I go to export the file to the device I get the following error when connecting to the database:

[MIMER][ODBC MIMER DRIVER]Could not retrieve error message for code -16144, SQLSTATE HY000
SQLSTATE = HY000, native error = -16144

and when I check the folder on the device it has been created but no files are in it.

If you have any ideas.

RE: Access Denied on registry

Found the solution to the above error. When creating the local database in the "System Databank Filenames" screen that there are no abseloute paths. The "log databank" tends to put in an abseloute path by default and this needs to be taken out, just leave in the log file name like the other text boxes on the screen...
