loop to assign values to a Set

loop to assign values to a Set

loop to assign values to a Set

Hi all.

I am trying to assign the numbers 1 through to 20 to a Set, this is the code so far
|aSet i|
    aSet := Set new.
    i := 1.
    [ i = aUpperBound] whileFalse: [i := i+1. aSet add:i].
But it says that it cannot find the Set (aSet), what am I doing wrong?

RE: loop to assign values to a Set

you have to declare aSet first using |aSet|. I am not sure the usage of |aSet i| you put here

RE: loop to assign values to a Set

|aSet i| define the variables i and aSet.
Then I have defined a new Set using "aSet := Set new."

How would you do it?

RE: loop to assign values to a Set

Works for me (squeak):

|aUpperBound aSet i|
aUpperBound := 20.
aSet := Set new.
    i := 1.
    [i = aUpperBound] whileFalse: [
        i := i+1.
        aSet add:i].
Transcript show: aSet.
