passing a value from servlet to jsp

(OP)
Hello All,

Let say I want to pass the DOB of an employee from a servlet to a jsp page. In the servlet I have a query like this:

sql = "Select DOB from Emp where name = " + request.getParameter("name")

I got DOB = '12/1/1970'

Now I want to display this DOB in my jsp page, how do I do that?

Thanks.

RE: passing a value from servlet to jsp

You can store it in the session, for example.

Cheers,
Dian

Thank you. I just set up the session object and it work just fine. Now, just in case my boss doesn't like session object, what else can I do?

RE: passing a value from servlet to jsp

Or as an attribute in the request.

Cheers,
Dian
