Sidekick

Sidekick

(OP)
Is Sidekick still in production or has it been discontinued?

RE: Sidekick

Dear nsetony2,

Yes it has been discontinued officially for 5 years...but see the following thread
thread807-1089796
It still works (Sidekick 98 that is) perfectly for the cardfiles but not so well with the calendar, especially the todos and the goals, though events and their alarms work fine.
Internet scheduling I never used so I am not sure what that goes like.

Check the FAQ area of this Forum for answers (If there are any FAQs!) , it could save you a lot of time and effort!

RE: Sidekick

James33 that's a helpful reminder, that the cardfile / database aspects of Sidekick 98 do work just fine and that it's the calendar & to-do's, time-related functions that are at issue re: the absence of support and the age of the program.

Does anyone have a more clear guess now re: how Sidekick 98 might fare with the upcoming operating system, Vista?

Though it's common to expect the worst, I imagine if it works with XP (no problems on my end with it) it probably will be workable (or can be made to be workable) with Vista.

Or maybe I'll be "migrated away" by that time, then again I thought that would happen 3 years ago...

Frank H.

RE: Sidekick

Dear nsetony2,

Well I guess we will just have to wait for someone with Vista to try it!

Regards
Jim
