Notron Antivirus slows down network file access

I have a Delphi application that accesses paradox files that are located on a mapped network drive. If this application starts up with NAV auto protect active it takes between 5 to 10 minutes to open the data files. With NAV disabled the files are all opened in less than 30 seconds. (It seems that NAV is scanning these huge data files??)

I've tried adding the network drive to the NAV "exclude" list but it seems to make no difference.

Does anybody have any suggestions?
