Hello everyone,

I have an IP Office 412 ver. 2.1.24 and for some reason my dial by name stopped working.  When you get the Attendant the *1 option shoule be Dia By Name.  When you dial *1 it gives an error tone like the phone has benn off the hook for sveral minutes.  I double checked to make sure that the Dial by name box was ticked in Manager, System, and it is.

Anyone have a solution?

what i have noticed is when you  create a mailbox and in propmts you to record your name, if you don't record a name in that field then the directory listing for that extension will not come up. Even if you have it programmed.
   Hopefully this may help.

We have been using it for over two years without a problem.  I'm not sure what happened.

Are all your links or lines correct connecting to the Dial by Name box?? If so could someone have accidently changed the WAV file for that box and recorded the wave-off tome there??  I mention that cause I just had a customer do something very similiar

Have you rebooted the computer/restarted the services?

No.  I can do that tonight.  I also deleted the links and reconnected them in the module.

Is there supposed to be an entery prompt?  I have none in the module for Dial by name.

no prompt is needed unless you want one, sometimes when you make changes you need to stop and restart the service. It takes a few moments and maybe you could do that during a slow period

OK now it just disconnects the call after hitting *1 for Dial By Name.

It still disconnects immediately after hitting *1  even after upgrading to 2.1.35.
