where ofd is an openfiledialog and _dev is a device object with the following set


        _dev = New Device()
        _dev.SetCooperativeLevel(Me.Handle, CooperativeLevel.Priority)

The file I'm selecting is the "C:\WINNT\dx9\extras\Extras\DirectShow\Samples\C++\DirectShow\Editing\timelinetest\track2.mp3"
