why its creating a core file??

the program is built in sun visual workshop 4.0,  and when we try to execute it, it creates an image of a core file.
how to read the core file  and whats the problem???

RE: why its creating a core file??

Have a look at the man page for workshop.  There are several ways of starting workshop.  I think the one you are looking for is something like

workshop -D imagefile -C corefile

It is a while since I used workshop so the syntax may not be quite right.  Alternatively, start workshop, then from the command prompt

debug imagefile corefile
