Zone Alarm Setting

hi, i have installed Zone Alarm pro in my machine which is in a LAN. when i start Zone Alarm , i get disconnected from everybody in the network. nobody can get my shared folder, neither me also get others shared folder, but internet works perfectly.

so , when i need to get anybody's share i shutdown my Zone Alarm and then get/copy the share from other machine and vice versa. Its quite annoying that everytime i have to shut down Zone Alarm when i need to get any share.

is this the property of Zone Alam ? or i am missing some setting ?

can not Zone Alarm prompts a message when any one wants to access my PC in a LAN ? or i want to access others without shutting down the Zone Alarm everytime.

If these features were there then Zone Alarm would have been a great software.

you need to change the trusted zone security level to medium this allows drive shares to be seen by other people.

it is "medium", by default i see in the firewall settings.


about your other solution, it is diificult to know who wants to connect with me in advance. so its bad to hardcode IP address.

this should be taken to the ZA thread.

however, ZAPro takes a little tweaking to set the allowable machines on your lan to see each other and share files.

i suggest you take a little time getting to know the settings and tweak them to suit your purposes.

you will be safer and hgappier once this is done.
