I have a Zip 100 Parallel Drive. If I access something on the Zip drive right after a fresh re-boot all is well and works as expected. I can even do some some simultaneous printing and Zip access.

BUT...if I've been on the computer for a little while (even without any printing) and then put a disk in the Zip drive, the computer reboots.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks!

What OS/hardware are you running? You may want to update your OS (Win95?) with any patches from
As well you may want to go to your MB home page and see if there is a firmware upgrade for you MB, if you don't know what you have go to and run that software, it'll identify it so you can search for an upgrade.

Other than that, I hate zip disks - they are slow, unreliable, noisy and expensive. Get a CD burner :eek:P

Well, I'm running Win98 SE and I recently downloaded and installed the lastest BIOS update on my ASUS MB but the problem persists. I may need to also do the same from Iomega (which I've not done yet).

I'd much rather have a CD burner but it's an issue of $$$ at the moment...but boy would it be NICE!

Any other clues? Many thanks,
dleigh
